🇺🇸 Murphy's Fourth of July Celebration is Moving Downtown for America's 250!

If you're planning to celebrate the Fourth of July in Murphy this year, there's one BIG change you'll want to know about!

For 2026, Murphy's annual fireworks show is moving from Konehete Veterans Park to Historic Downtown Murphy as part of the Cherokee County America 250 Celebration. I think this is going to create an incredible atmosphere right in the heart of downtown and make it even easier to enjoy our local restaurants, shops, and festivities before the fireworks begin.

I've included a parking map below so you can easily find the best place to park and enjoy the evening.

🚗 Where to Park

Several parking areas will be available throughout downtown during the festival. The closest options include:

Public Parking Lot on Bill Hughes Avenue
United Community Bank
Nantahala Bank
First Citizens Bank
Cherokee County Parking Lot (corner of South Church Street & West Central Street)
Street parking outside of the road closure areas
L&N Depot (please don't block Depot Street)
Hiwassee River Boat Ramp
409 Building
Konehete Veterans Park
River Walk Trailheads
Murphy First Baptist Church

🎆 Emily's Local Tip

If you've never experienced downtown Murphy during one of our biggest community events, this is the perfect time to visit. Come early, grab dinner at one of our amazing local restaurants, browse the shops downtown, stop by Kephart Outdoors if you need any last-minute gear for your mountain adventures, and then find a great spot to watch the fireworks light up the mountains.

Whether you're visiting for the holiday weekend or you're lucky enough to call Murphy home, I hope you'll come out and celebrate America's 250th birthday with our community. I can't wait to see everyone downtown!
